Tianyuan Chemical was established in 2005 and is located in Xiaoyi City, Lüliang, Shanxi Province. It is a company primarily engaged in the production and manufacturing of chemical raw materials such as alumina and aluminum hydroxide.
Background
In 2023, Tiandian Chemical purchased four ultrasonic flowmeters for precise batching in the leaching process. Since their installation and use, the signal transmission has been stable, the data displayed by the system consistently matches that shown on the DCS, and the readings accurately reflect the actual operating conditions, fully meeting the requirements for real-time monitoring of production parameters. One year later, we again purchased seven ultrasonic flowmeters from Pulsar, which are now being used in the raw material leaching and settling workshops.
Upon investigation, like many mining customers, the site previously used electromagnetic flowmeters. However, the data from these meters has consistently been unstable and prone to drift, requiring significant maintenance efforts and providing insufficient guidance for production processes. Since last year, after the leaching and raw-material workshops began using ultrasonic flowmeters—thanks to their resistance to abrasion, high-temperature tolerance, immunity to scaling and air bubbles, and highly accurate and stable measurements—their performance has been widely recognized by workshop personnel. This has created a ripple effect, prompting other workshops to adopt the technology as well. As a result, just one year later, the company made a bulk purchase of seven additional units at once. Now, flow management at key locations no longer relies solely on experience and estimation; instead, it benefits from the direct, intelligent, and online monitoring provided by these advanced instruments. We believe that the precise flow data will offer more reliable support for Tianyuan Chemical’s energy-efficiency management.
Currently, the installation and commissioning of field instruments have been successfully completed, and the training provided to on-site personnel has also been duly certified. The sonar flowmeter’s simple installation method and virtually maintenance-free, stable performance have received unanimous praise from workshop staff.
As early as 2022, Tianyuan Chemical had already selected Prolisens’ online RP intelligent measurement system and online new alkali concentration measurement system for its alumina technology upgrade project.
