The Macheng Iron Ore Mine is located in Macheng Town, Luannan County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Situated in the resource-rich eastern Hebei Plain, the mine covers an area of 10.08 square kilometers and holds reserves of 995 million tons. It is one of the largest iron ore mines in China that employs deep-shaft mining operations.

The Macheng Iron Ore Mine produces 7 million tons of iron concentrate per year, and the Macheng iron concentrate pipeline project is currently the largest pipeline project in China in terms of throughput.
At 13:28 on July 13, the Dashihe Terminal Valve Station successfully began delivering the refined ore slurry, marking the first-time successful completion of the full-process heavy-load commissioning of the Macheng Iron Ore Beneficiation System.
Dashih River Terminal Pumping Station
This test run involves the coordinated operation of 550 sets of equipment across 10 processes at the Macheng Beneficiation System and the Dashih River Terminal Station. The scale and complexity of this project are rare in the industry.
To ensure the successful completion of the full-process heavy-load commissioning on the first attempt, Macheng Mining has planned ahead and made meticulous arrangements, developing a coordinated heavy-load commissioning plan that clearly defines responsibility zones, specific tasks, responsible individuals, and deadlines for each item. In conjunction with the new equipment and processes being applied for the first time in the ore-dressing process, the company is thoroughly exploring technical parameters and operational patterns, streamlining production workflows, and providing data support for ongoing operations.
The Pulsar sonar flowmeter and non-nuclear impulse densitometer, as a highly popular external clamp-on combination for the mining industry, have been engaged in technical discussions and exchanges with the design institute and the client since the very beginning of the Macheng Concentrate Transportation Project’s planning. We are honored that the Macheng Beneficiation and Concentrate Transportation Project ultimately chose Pulsar Instruments’ external clamp-on flow and density combination.
The sonar flowmeter and the non-nuclear impact-type densitometer are installed respectively at the Macheng Concentrate Pump Station and the Dashih River Terminal Pump House, located after a 68.5-kilometer pipeline transmission. The readings from the sonar flowmeters at both ends are consistent. Currently, the non-nuclear densitometer has undergone preliminary sampling and commissioning.
Macheng Iron Ore Pump Station
The full-process heavy-load commissioning of the Ma Cheng Iron Ore Beneficiation System was successfully completed in one go. This not only marks an important milestone in the construction of a smart mine at Ma Cheng, but also provides further evidence of the growing customer recognition for Pulsar’s online intelligent instruments—including sonar flow meters and non-nuclear density meters—in the mining industry. Looking ahead, Pulsar will continue to strengthen its core business, remain customer-driven, and keep innovating to deliver even higher-quality and more competitive products and services to its clients.
